“You don’t know what you’re missing”
Then why should I give a crap?
I hate when people say, “You don’t know what you’re missing.”
I’m a picky eater, so normally, I hear this during food situations. How I should be eating mayonnaise or some other crappy food.
If I don’t know what I’m missing, then what difference does it make? Obviously my life is going just fine as it is, so why throw off that balance. Sure maybe once in awhile, I might like something new and exciting, but my argument is that I could also hate whatever it is you’ve put forth and now I wasted my time.
I refuse to try new things at restaurants because I’m hungry and I’m not going to waste my money on something that I “might” like. I want something that I know I like. There is no reason to take that leap of faith and then be hungry and broke. Maybe homeless people got that way because they tried too many new things?
So the next time you tell me I don’t know what I’m missing, just remember, I might punch you in the face, because I’m not currently doing that and I may really end up enjoying it.

It’s kind of the same as when someone tells you to try something that looks nasty and the say “you can’t go by looks.” Well, then what do I go by? By this way of thinking, this person put anything in their mouth, wouldn’t they? Not a good thought! HAHA

But bacon is good, pork chops are good.

This is exactly why I am such a picky eater. I choose to buy what I know I like so I don’t waste my time or money on something I probably won’t like. I also like to keep my stomach feeling good instead of taking the chance of seeing that food “I don’t know what I’m missing” in the form of vomit.

Eckert, I love that you are a picky eater too! I agree entirely with what you are saying!
