V
I think I really enjoyed this show.
The reason I say I think is because I just finished watching it and I’m not sure how much has sunk in yet.
The story is about a group of aliens that come to Earth and they call themselves the Visitors (V’s). They need materials from our planet, but promise exchange of information and technology. The V’s also promise peace and love. On the opposite side of the coin are the people who believe the V’s are here to destroy us. Sounds like we have a plot.
The first thing that I enjoyed about V is that I never felt like I was watching a LOST ripoff. So many shows nowadays are trying to be LOST and sometimes that fact is painfully obvious. V had it’s own style and gave off a good vibe. The writing was fairly well-done without feeling cheesy and the acting was good, too.
Elizabeth Mitchell, Juliet of LOST, stars in the show and that doesn’t hurt things either. She plays an FBI agent investigating terrorist sleeper cells and stumbles upon what could be the true meaning behind the V invasion. Co-starring is a guy who looks like MacGyver and he plays a priest who isn’t ready to follow the V’s. It appears that he and Mitchell may have a love connection at some point in the series.
Decent twists and turns and a good showing for the pilot episode. I now have high expectations for this show to deliver and will continue watching as long as it does.

Yeah man, I agree with you. Melissa and I started watching it and I wasn’t sure what to think at first, but by the end up the episode I think we both were really digging it.

Honestly, I had a bit harder time getting into the show than I thought I would. There was such an ususal response by the Government with the aliens arriving. I just have a hard time believing we would just allow these spaceships to hover in our airspace so passively. There were just little things missing. And not much critical thinking needed yet. To me there should be a bit more philisophical issues going on here. I really like the vibe I get with Lost and Flashforward where you have to really consider what ‘s happened. This seems missing. I agree though, i don’t need it to be a blatant rip of those shows ideas. Otherwise I’m intrigued at what’s going to happen. I just thought for the Pilot they jumped over way too many important things for us to consider. Also, I love Elizabeth Mitchell but man she looked douche as an FBI agent with her oversized hat and coat, guns drawn walking down that hallway.
