Which has more power?
I think I figured out something that might have metal fans reeling for decades.
There is a hand signal, with many meanings throughout the world, in which one points their pointer finger and pinky in the air, while holding the other fingers down with their thumb. Anyone who’s ever seen a rock concert has inevitably seen people throwing up this sign. Many have give demonic or satanic meaning by saying that it represents “devil horns”.
What I find interesting, is what really happens when someone makes the devil horns. They always scrunch their face. Many times a slight head nod is included as well.
When making the devil horns signal without said scrunched face, one finds that it is quite lack luster and has very little rock power.
Therefore, today I state to all, the scrunched face is greater than the devil horns.

Yeah I agree, the scrunched face is almost anatomically reflexive after the devil horns. I tried doing it without the scrunch and it’s almost impossible.
Another phenomenon worth not reviewing in the rock genre, is the tendency of some musicians, especially if there is a guest musician, to look at each other while they’re playing and have a sort of semi-sexual encounter through their musical dialogue together. I offer one example below, with Dylan denying Clapton’s overt physical come-ons, but of course their are tons of other probably better examples…

I keep trying to get Hadley to make the devil horns but she isn’t coordinated enough yet.

eckert, what about that huge dude at that crazy like basement concert you went to where that guy starts rolling around on the ground and unplugs everything? that guy had no scrunch face, but he was definately rockin’ it. i guess he’s the exception to the rule.
