New Year’s Eve

Lame and overrated.

Yeah! You stayed up until midnight! Cool. Now what?

New Year’s Eve has always bothered me. I’ve never really cared about staying up and ringing in the new year. Who cares? It’s just another day in my life.

I still have a job, a house payment and a few hundred other bills to pay. Nothing changes.

Then you have these lame “party shows” like Dick Clark’s barely-made-it-another-year Rockin’ New Year’s Eve. They have all these “cool” celebrities come on and stand there and then some crappy groups perform their crappy music. Darn, I guess I missed that since I was watching season 4 of LOST with the audio commentary on. Thank you Jorge Garcia and Evangelline Lilly.

I think what bothers me the most is that New Year’s Eve is just another excuse for people to go out and get hammered. Also good to point out is the number of those mega-responsible people who are then driving home afterward intoxicated. Drunk driving pisses me off more than just about anything, but that’s a different review.

So guess what, it’s 2009. Moving on.

    New Years Eve is so lame. I prefer Easter Eve.
