LOST – The Little Prince (s5e4)
Amazing, again.
Seriously, this show is so good it hurts. (spoilers ahead)
Brief synopsis, Locke and co. are heading for the Orchid, amidst time shifts, while Ben and Jack attempt to rally the troops and head back to the island. Doesn’t sound like much? Incorrect?
The on island stuff has really been great this season. They’ve been giving great amounts of details involving previous open-ended questions and have been giving great little teasers here-and-there about things yet to come.
Some of the things I loved from the ep tonight were when Faraday commented to Myles that the reason they are getting sick is because of the amount of time they’ve spent on the island. When Myles states that he’s only been there for 2 weeks, Faraday responds by asking if he’s sure. As we’ve seen, Desmond, the Freighties who apparently have had previous island experience and Juliet are the ones experiencing this sickness. (I’ll have to assume that Minkowski had been to the island before). This is really interesting and I love how they are setting the Freighties up for having been on the island previously. Now I just hope that the ugly red-hair bites it soon.
Another great moment was when they found the abandoned canoes on the future beach. My guess, what with the Ajira Airlines bottle, is that the Oceanic 6 have returned to the island and they arrived via this canoe. Who was shooting at the as they were in the ocean? Perhaps Sun’s people, Widmore’s, Others, at this point, any guess is simple speculation. Great moments though.
The end set up with Danielle was predictable, but still amazing. I know many people have wanted to know more about her back story and what a fantastic way to tell it. The fact that they busted out the Jin reveal, again obvious, was still great and I can’t wait to see where they go with this. One theory I’m going to have is that something terrible causes Danielle to kill her science team and I’m worried that it’s actually Sawyer taking a piss in the jungle or something.
I really like the idea of these people who’s minds have become unglued in time. What if that’s what the whispers are? People’s minds just aimlessly floating around the island. They have the ability to see things, but not interact because they are on a different plane of existence. I don’t know, just thinking out loud I guess.
The whole twist with Ben setting up everyone to return to the island is just great. One concern I have is that he isn’t keeping better tabs on Sun and doesn’t seem to know her interactions with Widmore. I don’t know, if Widmore was my arch nemesis, hell bent on keeping me away from the island and I had the resources Ben obviously does, I would probably have had someone watching him. Maybe it’s just me.
So Jin’s alive, prolonging my theory that Sun backstabbery is going to come back to haunt her. She is willing to do anything to get back at Ben for killing him and I’m afraid she doesn’t have the capacity for rational thought at this point.
Where do we go from here? We still have 13 eps left this season and a lot of things still have to happen. Jack and the gang have to not only get everyone together to go back, but then Hawking has to actually make it happen. Could be tricky, but based on the Ajira Airways bottle, it must happen.
We still haven’t seen how Locke leaves the island and what happens when he comes to America and tells everyone they have to come back in the form of Jeremy Bentham. I think this will be the main focus of the latter half of season five. And it will be incredible.

I didn’t even read this, but I just wanted to say how much I hate Lost…

My guess is that Locke finds a way to get back to that wheel in the Orchid. He ends up turning it and gets teleported off the island like Ben did. Since they all are going to the Orchid, this may explain why we saw Faraday there in the past when they were drilling.
