I don’t know if there is anything worse than a keyboardist rocking out. You know what I mean. That guy with a keyboard on every side of him, headbanging while he plays the keyboard.

Let’s dissect this.

You have a guy who plays keyboard in a rock / indie rock / punk / metal / goth / whatever crappy genre you want band. That in itself is fairly lame.

Next, you add the fact that he is headbanging or sort-of-rhythmically seizing in the midst of his multiple “boards”. Just stop. It’s terrible. You are just shaking and moving around, trying to get into it, but to be honest with you, .5% of the audience even realizes that you’re there and they are just looking at your with great pity.

If you want to play keyboard in a rock band, please, get some sort of screen or something that allows you to hide in the back. You can still play the music, but no one needs to see that.

It’s just sad.
