Helping Friends Move

One of the great catch-22’s of life.

You can easily not help them move, but trust me they’ll remember it.

Moving sucks. No matter how you look at it.

Whether you are 100% organized with everything in boxes that are labeled and you have the truck sitting out front, or those who don’t even have a box, it’s terrible.

The second half of that sentence actually happened to me.

When I was a kid, my mom’s friend asked us to help her family move. We went over to their house and everything was just a mess. It wasn’t because of moving though, it was just a mess. There wasn’t a box to be found in the entire house. The worst part was they didn’t even realize how bad it was.

When your friend is moving, you have to help. Sooner or later, you’re gonna be moving and you know you’re gonna need the help. I highly recommend the “buy pizza” method of getting people to help. Granted, some will show up primarily during the pizza time, but for the most part, you’ll get people who are happy to help, especially if they are fat guys. This is also advantageous because fat guys are generally good at moving things.

So you know what, if someone asks you to help them move, do it. It’s a nice thing to do and maybe they will give you free pizza.

If you are worried about the free pizza, just email them this review the day before moving day. They’ll get the point.

I will never forget that horrible day we had to help mom’s friend move. I never liked helping people move but my true hatred began that day. Mom still owes us for that one.

What about helping friends bust a move? Can’t touch that.
