Email Receipts

It’s none of your business whether I read your email or not.

Who thought of this? I get an email from you, then when I click it a popup smacks me in the face saying that the writer wants to be notified when their email was read.

If I want you to know when I read your email, I will respond.

That and, if you set your email up to do this, wouldn’t you just get tons of email receipts all day? Wouldn’t that clog the crap out of your inbox?

I also get some that say they want to know when I’ve deleted an email. Why would you possibly need to know when I deleted the email? To get these people good I keep their email for months and then delete them and send the receipt. That way they have no idea what is happening and are so confused, they realize how stupid it is to get deleted email receipts and they blow up their computer (which is probably a Mac).

I hate that crap. Even worse is when you ignore the receipt and you get a re-request for a receipt. Seriously people, get over yourself and your dumb emails/meetings.

Although it is kind of funny someone has gotten in the habit of doing email reciepts and then accidentally sends an email to the entire company mailing list and gets back some 10k responses :)
