DVD menus you can’t skip

What is the point? No one’s reading the FBI warning anyway.

At the beginning of a DVD, there are usually several screens presented, FBI warning, production company logos, etc… that can’t be skipped.

I’m one of those people who continually presses every remote button with the hopes that, even though it’s never worked before, this time it may let me skip this crap.

Now, I have experience making DVD’s and I know for a fact that they have to program the disc so that it won’t let you skip that. So they are knowingly and willingly pissing me off. Not cool.

That and the fact that people who copy DVD’s could care less about being warned by the FBI, and most of the time, probably remove the warning when they rip the disc. It’s like making gun control laws, when the people who are running around with guns committing crimes couldn’t give less a crap about gun laws.

I also compare this to video games that have cut scenes you can’t skip. But now that I started typing, I’ve realized that is another review for another day.

I plead with DVD production companies to pull their heads out and consider the fact that all you are doing is making people hate you. Vicious anger building inside when all I want to do is get Monsters Inc. started before my kid goes insane.
