Beeping Trucks in Avatar
Is it necessary?
So there are a ton of things I could review about this film. The amazing CG work that has set a new standard. The 3D that is revolutionizing the film industry. The lack-luster predictable and boring Fern Gully meets Pocahontas in space plot.
But no, I need to get this off my chest. There is a scene in which the humans are destroying the alien forest. They have trucks that are literally the size of buildings. We’re talking massively huge machines that you can’t miss no matter what.
These trucks though have the same backing up beeping noise that most heavy equipment used today have.
Why?
If someone can’t tell that the ground is shaking and all trees and landscape around them are being completely obliterated, what is the beeping noise going to do?
And are you telling me that this beeping noise is the pinacle of beeping technology. That in the next 150 years, they will not have come up with a better warning sound, but will continue to use the same beep?
I’m severely disappointed Jimmy Cameron. You really dropped the ball on that one.

You’re hating on the beeping and I’m hating on the fire extinguisher. Do we have some sort of weird family issue with details?

I’m pretty sure the biggest problem in this movie is the ‘bond’ they make with the animals, apparently its legal in their world… and Alabama
