Becoming a Fan on Facebook

Honestly, where is this going to stop?

I want to point out that I don’t think the fan pages are a bad idea. Mr. Complain has a fan page. They are really useful for people to get updates about the goings-on.

The problem, like everything else on Facebook, is the lack of moderation.

People think that you need to be a fan. Of everything.

TV shows, movies, bands, etc… they all make sense.

Here are some of my latest favorites that have been on my homepage, which one of my friends became a fan of: Music, the State of Texas, Sleep and probably the worst one – Facebook.

That’s right, users of Facebook can become a fan of Facebook.

Shut up.

Applications started off as a good idea and then ran rampant. Facebook decided to take charge and redesign the site to help the clutter. That worked for awhile, but now I fear fan pages are going to do the same.

You used to only see your friend suggestions on your homepage, but now the fan pages are filtered in there as well.

It’s just too much. Let me find and network with people. I don’t give a crap that you are a fan of Breathing.
